Plinius
Plinius Audio Systems was founded by Peter Thomson in August 1980.
Since that time Plinius Audio has produced state-of-the-heart audio components under the design direction of Peter Thomson and Gary Morrison.
The first amplifiers were designed mainly for the New Zealand market. Rapidly given the very small home market Plinius works hard to establish overseas.Australia was the closest market and later in the 1980s small volumes began even to be exported to Germany.
The association of Gary Morrison with Plinius has lead to designs being accepted as among the most innovative and respected in the world.Components selected after careful listening sessions, unusual circuits topologies and sound system design were the keys of success.
During the early 90s’ Plinius has been introduced in US and UK in order to gain worldwide credibility as the US and UK markets are recognised as the ‘homes’ of High Fidelity and credibility elsewhere is largely based on reviews originating from those two markets.
Plinius was then noticed by the major magazines and settled well in the US market.Currently Plinius products are also available in 26 other countries, with more interest developing daily.
