WBT

In 1985 Wolfgang B. Thoerner built his first Cinch/RCA connector, milled from plain materials, the ancestor of the still renowned WBT0101. What followed was an impressive series of other Cinch/RCA connectors, « bananas », forks and other high quality accessories for wires.

Today WBT is still on the cutting edge of research and is proud to present its new NextGen models range starting with the WBT-0110TM Cinch/RCA , characterised by a 75 Ohm impedance until 1 Ghz and by very weak losses through Eddy currents, followed by the WBT-0210TM Cinch/RCA frame socket and similar characteristics and more recently with the WBT-0710TM Speaker Pole terminal.

The NextGen Cinch/RCA WBT0101 and NextGen frames WBT0210 are essentially made out of copper/gold or pure silver for the contacts, and out of Ultramid® and Peek® synthetic materials for the body. In this digital era, we couldn’t dream of anything better for a perfect transmission of Audio/Video signals.

The NextGen range of Cinch/RCA plugs has been further extended with metal body plugs using the NextGen technology, the WBT-0102 and WBT-0152, both of them allowing an incredible 200 MHz bandwidth.

More recently WBT did introduce the new WBT-0710 speaker terminals, again a step forward to achieve ever perfect signal transmission.

The WBT-0710 is made of pure silver or high-purity copper conductor.

Both materials may be perfect conductors but they are far too soft to withstand the strains on a binding post. This is why the WBT-0710 are protected against deformation and twist by a sturdy plastic sheath. A final coating of gold on metal parts prevent oxidization.
