Nextgen
A new concept
Having set a new standard of RCA connectors for the Audio field 20 years ago, WBT continuously pursued research to refine the existing products as well as to develop astonishing new products based on new technologies.
One of such was the WBT Sandwich Spade (1998) with its « reduced but pure » conductor concept: for the first time a reduced mass of conductor material but made from pure copper was applied. The success was overwhelming.
Since then WBT has researched a similar principle for RCA connections. The construction of RCA connectors made the task even more challenging and demanding.
After the worldwide success of the NextGen RCA socket WBT0210 featuring several new and clever technologies, WBT did push even further the research and is now coming with a new speaker’s pole terminal, the WBT-0710TM pole terminal.
The core of the new WBT-0710TM pole terminal is not only made from pure copper or fine silver but it is also designed from one piece so that all unnecessary transition resistance is omitted. The signal conductor is embedded in a matrix of glass fibre and mineral strengthened plastic and strain relief is achieved by means of a non-magnetic stainless steel strut. The clever anguler alignment of the signal conductor allows the secure fitting of spades, banana plugs and crimped cable ends. A damping ring made from elastomer prevents vibration at the contact level.
On this basis, the construction is electrically insulated from the start. Design element out of brass give the WBT-0710TM pole terminal the expected appearance and feel of its successful predecessors without impairing the electrical safety.
